Last Few Weekends

We had a really lovely Valentine's Day weekend. First of all, the weather was glorious (THANKS SAN FRANCISCO!), so we enjoyed sunsets galore from our roof. Also, Lucas sort of kills it in the flower department -- this gorgeous arrangement is from Church Street Flowers in SF. We both wrapped our gifts in the exact same paper (AKA we only have one non-holiday kind of wrapping paper but let's pretend we're just soulmates on the same paper wavelength) -- can you guess which one I wrapped (ha!)? For dinner on V-Day we went to Outerlands, which is my favorite spot in SF. It's cozy and delicious and non-pretentious and just everything a restaurant should be.
My sister-in-law, Anne, was here for a hot second last week, so we gave her the full tour of SF. She picked the only foggy day we've had in months to visit, but it didn't stop us from taking her to Fort Point, Baker Beach, and of course, for both pho and Philz. Only the best for my sis!

This weekend was gorgeous (again...ugh SF you're so predictable) so we went over to Angel Island. We drove to Tiburon and then took the ferry over to the island. It sort of looks like Jurassic Park and it's the Ellis Island of the West Coast, so I.was.into.it. Don't worry though, our weekend wasn't all sunshine and party-party-party, we also had our car towed to the tune of $600 and several hours in the wee hours of the night spent in the SF impound lot. I'm over it, I swear. No big deal. It's not like I can think of anything else I'd rather spend that money on.
We ended the weekend on a high note by hosting a little Oscars party. This is weirdly the only photo I took of the evening -- whoops! High points of the Oscars: Eddie Redmayne, Oprah, and Gaga. Low points: Boyhood and Selma not winning all of the awards. Happy Monday, all!

Colorado Weekend

We made a trip to Colorado to visit my BFF, Kristina, this weekend. This was Lucas's first trip to Colorado, so we packed in as much as possible into our 3 days.
Sunset is definitely the time to fly. I even broke away from watching E! on demand for 30 whole minutes to enjoy this perfect light over the mountains.
On Saturday we drove up to Arapahoe Basin for a day of skiing. I was by far the weakest link in the group, but it was a really pretty day, so it was fun to be outside. Lucas was excited to bust out his go pro selfie stick, so the day was wellllll documented.

On Sunday, we drove to Boulder, which is about 30 miles outside of Denver. We hiked the Flatirons, which is a 3 mile round trip hike that kicks off in Chautauqua Park in Boulder. Afterwards, we walked around Pearl Street and soaked up the last of the sun before flying back to rainy SF.

In case you're planning a trip to Denver, these are the top places we ate:
  • True Food Kitchen - A healthy restaurant in the cute neighborhood of Cherry Creek. The panang curry was out of this world.
  • Tamayo - This is a Mexican restaurant in the cute area of Larimer Square. The margaritas and tacos were on point.
  • Rosenberg's Bagels - I would like to get down on my knees and beg for this place to open up a San Francisco location. There are super long lines, but its well work the amazing bagel sandwiches that magically cured our hangovers.
  • Patxi's - This is a Bay Area pizza chain, but they have a few locations in Denver as well. We ordered in deep dish and watched the Grammy's on Sunday night before jetting back home. Nothing like celebs and carbs to close out the perfect weekend!
And here were our favorite coffee spots:
  • Little Owl Coffee - A super tiny coffee shop in Lower Denver (LoDo) with the prettiest latte art (priorities!).
  • Crema Coffee House - A trendy spot in the River North (RiNo) district of Denver.
  • Laughing Goat Coffee - Roomy coffee shop in Boulder full of students studying. Come here if you want to feel really old and enjoy a perfectly made almond milk latte.
Love and miss you already, Buddy! xo

Dolores Park in San Francisco

This was one of those perfect SF weekends. The weather was 75 and sunny and everyone flocked to the beach and parks. We spent Saturday day drinking with friends in Dolores Park aka hipster paradise in the Mission. All of my favorite people came together and it was just the best day. Here are a few snaps from the boozy day.
Peace out, Dolores! See you soon!
