Weekend Georgetown Trip

My good friend Meaghan is visiting DC, and it has been a short but sweet trip. We went to Georgetown today to do a little shopping and eating - what else? We got red velvet cupcakes at Georgetown Cupcake yum! I made a few purchases, but my favorite is The Bustling Avenues dress from Anthropologie

San Francisco!

Lucas and I went to San Francisco and Palo Alto this weekend. It was a blast! Lucas was accepted into Stanford's PhD program for Political Science, so we went to check it out. The campus was gorgeous and we had so much fun.

Passion Dress

Love this dress - cute for spring and UGA colors! From Lizard Thicket.

First Lady Hair Portraits

My friend Sarah sent me this NYTimes Op-Art piece, which features First Lady hairdos over time. Really neat! Read more on NYTimes.

Professional Wardrobe

I am slowly but surely trying to build my professional wardrobe. I am trying to purchase "investments" rather than just buying trendy clothes. I recently bought this Silence & Noise blazer from Urban Outfitters for work. I also like to wear it with jeans for a dressy casual look. I also bought this leather bag, since I can't afford this one!

Banana Republic Finds

I really like to wear silk tops under my suit blazers. It makes me feel feminine despite wearing a blah suit. I found these tops today at Banana Republic. We ducked into the store on a whim when we were braving the snow in D.C. and they had some surprisingly great sales going on.

I also got these jeans, which fit so well. They were also on sale!

Handbag Dream

I want a red leather handbag. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Huge Hillier Hobo bag in Red Hot is perfect! It would be roomy enough for all of my stuff that I like to lug around, and it is UGA red! The only problem is that it is $500. Hmm... *Update - Recently saw the movie "Valentine's Day" and Jennifer Garner carries this bag! It made me green with envy!*

Snowy Weekend Reading

DC is so snowy right now - they are predicting 30 inches of snow this weekend! Yikes! As long as we don't lose power it will be great, because I'm looking forward to piling up in bed all weekend, drinking hot chocolate, catching up on Project Runway and Modern Family episodes, and reading a lot! I am reading several books for class, but I would rather be reading this:

Valentines Day Bunting!

I want this Valentines Day bunting! Robyn makes really cute bunting - I wish she would make it for me (*hint hint Robskies*)! Seen on Oilcloth Addict.

New Shoes!

Always a good thing. I love my new Bandolino shoes! If I have to work 9:00 - 6:00 everyday, at least I can do it in style.
