Will U B My Valentine?

I love Valentine's Day. Probably just because I have a great boyfriend, and we have done fun things on the last two Valentine's Days. But even growing up my Mom and Dad would always give us little gifts every Valentine's Day and I think it is important to have a holiday where you tell people you love them.

Usually I opt for Aaron Carter Valentines, but there are so many fun choices out there and they are so affordable. Check out some of these great Valentine's Day cards:

As always, Rifle Paper Co. has wonderful cards: A set of 8 is only $16. See them here.

LOVE these cute fill-in-the-blank bunting cards: A set of 9 is $12. From littleaviary's Etsy shop. Seen on post grad hair cut.

You can never go wrong with an animal card: Each card is only $3.50 (much cheaper than a Hallmark card...)! From colettepaperie.

The Room

Last night, Molly, Melissa, Anna, Lucas, and I went to see The Room, which was the worst, best, and funniest movie I have ever seen. For those of you who have never heard of the this movie, it is really an experience to go see it in a theatre. Think Rocky Horror Picture Show but better. It is so fun! People yell things like "Focus!" and do things like throw spoons at the screen. I can't wait until the next screening next month! Check out if it is coming to a city near you.

Georgetown! You're Killing Me!

Today Molly and I went BACK to Georgetown. This was trip number three in just two weeks. Whoops!

I got this fun dress to wear either for Lucas's graduation or for his Foundation Fellowship dinner:

I got this dress for work:

Thank goodness I finally start working this week, so I can't spend anymore money. I love Georgetown though, and I've been scoping out things to do with Kristina when she comes and visits me next weekend! We are definitely going to go to Georgetown Cupcake, because they have adorable little cupcakes that they wrap up in pink boxes! Today Molly and I went to sweetgreen, and it was soooo good. It is a salad and frozen yogurt place, and the ingredients are so fresh. Bonus: they practice sustainable business, so they use all biodegradable material and try to have a positive global effect.

I can't wait for this weekend, because Lucas comes! And then the next weekend Krisitina comes. Watch out DC!

Shopping Spree

I went shopping in Georgetown a few days ago with my roommates Molly and Melissa. Georgetown has all the fun stores - Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, J.Crew, and H&M. I bought 3 tops and a great blazer.
This is one of the tops I bought from Urban Outfitters:

I thought it would be a good top for work, and luckily it is not completely unfortunate like some work clothes. Bonus: It was on sale for $29.99! :)

Haiti

The situation in Haiti is so sad. Haitians have already gone through more than their fair share of tragedy and pain over the years, and this earthquake was so destructive. In addition to the death toll soaring over 100,000 people, there are thousands upon thousands of hurt and/or internally misplaced persons.

If you are able to give. Please please please try to! $5 from your pocket is just a Starbucks latte, but if we all give $5 it could seriously save thousands of lives.

I just donated through Doctors Without Borders, which will help provide medical help to Haiti. Since several of the hospitals collapsed during the earthquake, I felt compelled to help. Oxfam International, UNICEF, and The American Red Cross are other great organizations that are currently accepting donations. I am so proud of President Obama and the United States for pledging immediate support. Please find a way to help if you can.

DC - DC - DC!!!

I am in Washington DC!

I live in a little townhouse on Stanton Park, which is an adorable little dog park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. There is a cute little pre-school across the street, so everyday when I wake up I look over and see kids and puppies everywhere! It's great! Random fact: President Obama lived on Stanton Park during his time as a U.S. Senator! WOOO!

I do not start work until January 25th, so I have been spending this time getting adjusted to life in DC. I have been running a lot, and it is insane how I run by the Supreme Court, the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol, the National Mall, and the Smithsonian everyday. I love it!
