Russian River Day Trip

It was our first official weekend in San Francisco, so naturally we headed out of town. :) The weather was glorious, so we went to Russian River with a few friends to celebrate our friend, Tierney's, birthday. Russian River is in Northern California (NorCal, y'all!) about an hour and a half outside of SF. We couldn't leave town without going to Philz (our weekend staple) and making a beer run though. Also, check out Lucas's sweet tank (represent, represent Cuba!) - sun's out, guns out!
There are a few beaches along the Russian River, but we went to Monte Rio, which is less crowded than Johnson's Beach. We floated on tubes and inflatable rafts for hours and snacked on brie, salami, strawberries, and Nutella. Just trying our best to be French!
After a long day in the sun, we were tired and famished (and starting to get slightly hungover...?), so we were more than ready for dinner. We tried to visit the Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, but the wait was 2+ hours (!!) so we went to Rosso instead. Such a fun day with dear friends! xoxo

Weekend Playlist

Have a lovely weekend! Here are a few of my favorite tunes at the moment. Have a groovy weekend. xoxo

Banking on Politics

I just wanted to take a second to offer up a shameless plug for Lucas's blog, Banking on Politics. Lucas's research focuses on the politics of financial crises, so if that's your jam, you should definitely follow his blog. Reading it makes me realize what a smarty pants I'm marrying. Plus, you can read about how he just met Obama for like, the third time. :)

Moving...

We're in the middle of moving, which is why our house went from looking like this...
...to looking like this! Wish us luck over the next few weeks. Isn't moving the worst? :(

Denver Girls Trip

Last weekend, I went to Denver for a girls trip. My two best friends, Meaghan and Kristina, live in Colorado, so I love to visit whenever I can. This is the view from Meg's balcony - isn't it great?
On Thursday night, we went to see The Postal Service concert at Red Rocks. TPS was our favorite band in high school and they are having their 10 year anniversary tour (!!!). The place was amazing: the natural acoustics of Red Rocks makes it the perfect concert venue and you can see the entire skyline of Denver.
On Saturday, we went to Black Crow, a casual food truck affiliated and attached to Rio Grande, a local Mexican restaurant. They have the best margaritas and a house drink called a Ricky, which is a frozen margarita with a Coronita. PS - remember Punschka? She came along for the fun. :)
Afterwards, we had some girly cocktails at a local Denver bar.
Needless to say, the next day we had to go to brunch. We went to Snooze, which was one of the best breakfast joints I've ever been to. I flew out Saturday afternoon. It was a short but sweet trip. Love my BFFs!

Until next time, Denver! xoxo
