Restaurant Review: Pamplemousse

The great thing about living on the San Francisco Peninsula is that there are a ton of great restaurants, which is definitely a far cry from the suburbia that I grew up in. Pamplemousse is an adorable French cafe in downtown Redwood City, and it's a great place to grab breakfast or lunch.

Pamplemousse has a large spread of French pastries, but my favorites are the French macaroons. The salted caramel and lavender vanilla ones are to die for.

Since we went for brunch, we both ordered lattes and the ham and cheese quiche, which came with mixed greens in a creamy herb vinaigrette.

It definitely hit the spot. Have a great day! XO

Google Reveals State Stereotypes

This is hilarious. Google autocorrect reveals common state stereotypes. Apparently Georgia is so hot, racist, boring, and stupid while California is liberal, broke, anti-gun, and expensive. Sounds about right. Check out your state!

Sonoma

We love to take out-of-town guests to wine country. We've been to Napa a few times, but when Kristina visited, we decided to check out Sonoma instead. It was definitely less touristy than the Napa area and the vineyards and restaurants are fantastic.

Fun fact: the Sonoma Plaza is the largest in California! The town square is so lovely and next time we're definitely bringing along a picnic lunch.

We went to few tastings here and here. I may or may not have asked Kristina to take a picture of my ring... :)

The day couldn't have been any nicer - 85 degrees and sunny!

The second winery that we visited had a horseshoe pit and a bocce ball court.

Cheers to Sonoma!

Michelle Obama's Stunning DNC Outfit

Did you watch the DNC speeches tonight? The Julián Castro and Michelle Obama speeches were both so inspiring and well delivered. The First Lady's speech was outstanding, but it was impossible not to notice her outfit too. She really wowed in this Tracy Reese dress and J.Crew heels.

Restaurant Review: Il Cane Rosso

If you're in the San Francisco area, then you must check out Il Cane Rosso. It is by far my favorite place to eat in the city and it's conveniently located in the Ferry Building. If the weather is nice, we love to sit outside on the patio and people watch.  This weekend, Lucas, Kristina, and I had a well-deserved lunch here after our boxing class. Here are a few snapshots of our meal:

Mariquita Farm Tomato Soup with Yogurt
Star Route Farm Frisee Lettuce Salad
Roasted summer squash, scallions, cilantro, faro, tomatillo vinaigrette
Marin Sun Farms Beef Brisket
Roasted cherry tomato conserva, mustard aioli, dandelion greens
Prather Ranch Slow-Cooked Pork
Sweet & sour summer pepper agrodolce, lemon aioli
Take my word for it, this place is awesome. If you live in or visit San Francisco, I definitely recommend hitting this place up. It's incredibly fresh and delicious!
